Charles' Take: This felt to me like a story that needs to be told. Trauma and recovery are incredibly powerful themes to explore, especially when a story is willing to acknowledge the anger and emotional complexity that can come with that experience. What interests me about Beware Her Furyis that healing isn't presented as simply forgetting what happened. It's about confronting pain, rediscovering connection, and finding a way forward without allowing trauma to define everything you are. Graphic novels can give us a window into deeply human experiences, and stories like this demonstrate why the medium can be so powerful.

Charles' Take: I'll admit, I haven't always been the biggest Supermanfan. But over time—and through conversations with my friend JJ Jackson—I've come to better understand what Superman represents to so many people. He isn't simply a character defined by incredible power. At his core, Superman represents the belief that strength should be used with compassion, that hope still matters, and that having the ability to dominate the world means very little compared with choosing to serve it.

That's what makes Superman: The Strangerso interesting to me. Going back to 1938 allows us to see those ideals before they became mythology. This is a young man looking at inequality, corruption, and people struggling to survive while asking himself a difficult question: with all this power, can I actually make things better?

The older I get, the more I understand why that idea resonates. Superman isn't compelling because he can do almost anything; he's compelling because, despite everything he can do, he continues choosing to help.

DC Studios' Lanterns Trailer Brings the Green Lantern Mythology to Earth

DC Studioshas unveiled a new look at Lanterns, bringing John Stewartand Hal Jordantogether for a grounded mystery that introduces a very different corner of the DC Universe. The series follows the two Green Lanterns as they investigate a dark case on Earth while carrying the enormous responsibility that comes with representing the Green Lantern Corps.

What immediately stands out is the relationship between the two Lanterns. The trailer suggests a veteran-and-new-recruit dynamic, while also introducing audiences to the larger responsibility, discipline, and mythology behind the Corps. For longtime Green Lantern readers, the real question is how far the series will eventually expand beyond Earth and into the enormous cosmic world surrounding these characters.

Charles' Take: Green Lantern has always been one of my favorite superheroes, and I've always felt the Lantern mythology is big enough to exist almost as its own universe within DC, much like the X-Men have their own identity within Marvel. John Stewart, in particular, has grown into such a strong character over the years that I want this series to really explore what makes him unique—not simply as another Lantern, but through the way he thinks, leads, and uses the ring differently from everyone else. From what I've seen, Aaron Pierre looks like a strong fit for the role. I know some fans have reservations about the direction of the series, but I'm genuinely intrigued to see where this story goes. I'm always rooting for comic-book television and films to win, and I hope Lanternsintroduces an entirely new audience to what the Green Lantern Corps truly represents.
